Talk about when you had to cancel plans.

 

• meet up with: ~와 만나다
• come down with a cold: 감기에 걸리다
• become apparent: 명백해지다
• be in no condition to: ~할 상태가 아니다
• urgent matter: 급한 일
• take a rain check: 다음을 기약하다
• family get-together: 가족 모임
• in ages: 오랫동안

However, I came down with a bad cold a few days before the date, and I was feeling under the weather.

그런데 만나기로 한 날 며칠 전에 감기에 심하게 걸려서 몸상태가 좋지 않았다.

 

On the morning of the appointment, it became apparent that I was in no condition to meet my friends.

당일 아침에 도저히 친구들을 만날 컨디션이 아니라는 생각이 들었다.

보통 in the morning이 많이 사용되지만, 여기서 morning은 '당일, 그날의' 아침이란 의미로 사용된 경우라 in 대신 on이 사용되었어요.

 

I felt bad because it was the first family get-together in ages.

오랜만에 가족끼리 다 같이 모이는 자리였는데 아쉬웠다.

 

Don't lose any sleep over it.

너무 크게 신경 쓰지 마.
