• raise a din: 시끄러운 소리를 내다
• smooth as silk: 아주 매끄럽게, 순조롭게

He said there was a problem with the motor, and I had to replace a part.

모터에 이상이 있다고 해서 부품을 갈아야 했다.

 

It was past the warranty period, so I had to pony up the repair fee.

무상 수리 기간이 지나서 수리비를 지불해야 했다.

 

On another occasion, the washing machine raised a din whenever I tried to do the laundry.

또 한번은 빨래를 할 때마다 세탁기에서 큰 소음이 났다.
