Talk about when the subway is packed with people.

 

• morning rush: 출근 시간대의 혼잡
• walk in the park: 쉬운 일
• boarding platform: 승강장
• get tangled up: 뒤엉키다
• get on board: 탑승하다
• no easy task: 만만치 않은 일
• be filled to capacity: 만원이다
• stay on one's feet: (넘어지지 않고) 서 있다
• offensive odor: 악취
• share space with: ~와 같은 곳에 있다
• overdo it: 과하게 하다
• someone's stop: 내려야 하는 역(정거장)
• pour out: 쏟아져 나오다
• get backed up: 막히다, 밀리다
• take it slow: 천천히 행동하다

When the train arrives, people getting on and off get tangled up.

열차가 승강장에 도착하면, 타고 내리는 사람들이 엉킨다.

getting on and off는 앞의 명사 people을 수식해주는 현재분사입니다. people에 대한 동사는 뒤에 있는 get tangled up입니다.

 

When I get on a subway car that is filled to capacity, there are so many people that it's hard to stay on my feet.

만원 지하철에 탑승을 하면, 사람들이 너무 많아서 서 있는 것조차 힘들다.

주절은 so~that 구문과 가주어 진주어 구문이 합쳐진 형태입니다. '너무 ~해서 ~하다'라는 so ~that에서 that절에 가주어 it, 진주어 to stay가 쓰였습니다.

 

After a few stations, I arrive at my stop.

이렇게 몇 개 역을 타고 가면 내가 내릴 역에 도착한다.
