• power outage: 정전
• a bit of a nuisance: 다소 귀찮은 것
• circuit breaker: 전원 차단기
• fuse box: 두꺼비집
• circuit breaker trips: 전원 차단기가 내려가다
• electrical short / short circuit: 누전, 합선
• electrical fire: 전기 화재

There was no electricity for over 10 hours, so it was a bit of a nuisance.

10시간 이상 전기가 들어오지 않아서, 조금 불편했다.

nuisance와 비슷한 의미로 hassle이라는 단어가 있습니다.

 

Everything in the refrigerator was at risk of melting, so we had to take measures in advance.

냉장고에 있는 모든 것이 녹을 위험에 있어서, 미리 대비를 해야 했다.

everything은 단수명사입니다. 따라서 동사도 단수동사인 was가 왔어요.

 

I opened the fuse box and turned the power back on, but the circuit breaker tripped again.

두꺼비집을 열고 전원을 다시 올렸는데, 그래도 차단기가 계속 내려갔다.

 

What rotten luck.

운이 참 안 따라 주네.
